Some households in Cork are paying up to 1K a year for bottled water as they don’t trust the quality of tap water, that’s according to Cork North Central TD Mick Barry.
A public meeting to be held in Cork tonight will hear calls on the Government to provide vouchers for bottled water in communities affected by the city’s discoloured water scandal.
Mick Barry said “Here in Cork we want to see a referendum to keep water in public ownership but we also want to see compensation for households which have been financially disadvantaged by the brown water phenomenon in our city.”
The meeting will take place at the Clayton Hotel Lapps Quay at 8pm
