Cork Denied Vital Housing Scheme

1 Min Read

Cork property developer Michael O’ Flynn has launched a scathing attack on Cork City Council after planning permission for 1,150 homes and a neighbourhood centre at Maglin Ballincollig Cork was rejected.

O’ Flynn who has a proven track record for building top quality residential schemes early and ahead of schedule said “at time of an unprecedented national housing crisis, it is unacceptable that a quality housing scheme of this strategic scale is refused on lands zoned for housing, located within walking distance of the proposed Luas route, and supported by substantial developer-led infrastructure investment,”

The refusal will come as a blow to many of the thousands of people desperate to get on the property ladder it will also be problematic for tradespersons who had hoped to work on the project.

It’s understood the successful developer plans to robustly appeal the planning refusal.
