A man has appeared at a special court sitting charged with assaulting a Garda.
33 year old Darren Warren of no fixed abode was charged with assault causing harm to Garda Paul Dorney
The charge relates to an incident where Garda Dorney was allegedly hit with a crutch while he was on duty duty at Lapps Quay Cork yesterday Friday at around 3pm
Gardai objected to bail and the accused who the court heard is unemployed was remanded in custody and is due back in court this coming Tuesday
