A roof top concert venue is among the offerings unveiled in an effort to boost Corks night time economy.
The new Night Time Economy Strategy aims to boost tourism, enhance local business opportunities, and create a safe, dynamic environment for both residents and visitors alike – opening up Cork to become a 24 hour destination.
Cork City Council has approved the project that will also see the Leave a Light On campaign, and the Coffee House Lates eventsexperiences that are set to showcase Corks energy and creativity after dark.
Cork City Council Chief Executive, Valerie OSullivan said: With an increasing number of residents and visitors seeking diverse experiences after dark, a robust nighttime economy strategy is essential to boost local business, promote safety and enhance social cohesion.
The plans are more than ambitious but with proper funding and – a we can do this attitude – Cork looks set to be the city – that never sleeps.
