Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the death of a man whose body was found at a house in Co Cork.
Emergency services were alerted to an incident at Currahaly, on the N22 between Ballincollig and Macroom, shortly before 4am this morning.
On arrival, they discovered that a 35 year old man was dead, and Gardaí immediately sealed off the area. Sources say blood was also found at the scene.
The man’s body has since been removed, and a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out at Cork University Hospital. The findings will determine the next stage of the investigation.
An incident room has been established at Macroom Garda Station, and a Senior Investigating Officer has been appointed.
The property remains cordoned off.
