The terrifying ordeal began yesterday afternoon, when Paige popped out for just 30 minutes.

Shortly after, she received a phone call that would turn her world upside down—her home was on fire.

Racing back to Kilnap Place in Farranree Cork she arrived to find her house engulfed in smoke as firefighters battled to control the blaze.

“I just froze,” said the 21-year-old mother. “I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.”

Paige had left her young son, Dylan, in the care of his grandmother. Reflecting on the what-ifs, she said, “God only knows what would have happened if we had been in the house at the time.”

According to Paige, a mini fridge in the bedroom she shares with Dylan had exploded, igniting a fire that quickly consumed the room. Everything inside was destroyed—including Dylan’s very first teddy bear.

“Had it happened while we were asleep, we might not be here today,” she said, fighting back tears.

Despite the heartbreak, Paige expressed immense gratitude to the fire brigade, who managed to stop the flames from spreading to the rest of the house.

Thankfully, the property is fully insured. But the emotional toll remains heavy.

Paige does NOT want a Go Fund Me account but is using her frightening experience to warn others.

“I just want people to be aware,” she said. “Please don’t leave chargers or TVs plugged in when you’re not home. And if you’re thinking about buying a mini fridge—think twice.”
