A man has died following a collision on the M8 Southbound Upper Riverstown Glanmire Cork at around 6:50 this morning.
The man in his 20s, was brought by ambulance to Cork University Hospital. where he was later pronounced dead.
No other vehicles were involved in the collision.
The road remains closed to facilitate a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 6:40 am and 7:15 am this morning are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
