Cork food, fashion and a little Sunday afternoon glamour are coming together this weekend as Bakestone on Perry Street hosts Brunch in Style with Opera Lane on Sunday, August 16, from 12.30pm.
The €60 event promises a relaxed afternoon of good food and fashion, beginning with a seasonal two-course brunch at Bakestone before guests enjoy a special Opera Lane fashion showcase. The showcase will be styled by Breeda O’Connell, Opera Lane Stylist and Personal Shopper, with plenty of inspiration for the season ahead.
There will also be spot prizes throughout the afternoon, followed by a special Five Farms Irish Cream finale, making it the perfect excuse to gather with friends and enjoy a leisurely Sunday in the city.

Bakestone is part of the Carey family’s growing food and hospitality business, with Joe and Maura Carey also behind The White Horse in Ballincollig. The Perry Street venue opened around 18 months ago and has quickly established itself as a versatile city-centre space, with its own bakery producing pastries and cakes in-house.
The building itself has a fascinating connection to Cork’s food heritage. Once used as a butter store during the city’s famous butter-trading era, it now has a new chapter in its story as Bakestone. The team is passionate about being part of the local community, and the collaboration with neighbouring Opera Lane is a natural fit.
For the team, taking part in Cork on a Fork is another opportunity to showcase what they do while being part of a wider celebration of Cork’s food culture. With their own bakery producing pastries and cakes in-house, and a strong focus on locally rooted hospitality, Bakestone is proud to play its part in the city’s thriving food community.

Supporting local businesses is at the heart of what Bakestone is about. From working with neighbouring businesses like Opera Lane to creating a space where people can meet, eat and celebrate, the team sees being part of the Cork community as an important part of its identity. Events such as Cork on a Fork Fest help shine a light on the independent cafés, restaurants, producers and hospitality businesses that give the city its character, while encouraging people to explore, eat locally and support the businesses on their doorstep.
With food, fashion, prizes and plenty of Cork hospitality on the menu, Brunch in Style promises to be a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon — and a chance to see Bakestone in a slightly different light.
Brunch in Style with Opera Lane takes place at Bakestone, Perry Street, on Sunday, August 16, at 12.30pm. Tickets are €60 per person.
