A man has been arrested following an attack on the home of a well known convicted criminal in Cork earlier this evening.
Two men called to the mans home armed with what Gardai say was some type of weapon and smashed a number of windows before fleeing the scene on a motorbike.
During the getaway the men knocked down a man in the Churchfield area. The man who is in his 60s sustained a broken leg
The suspects dumped the bike and ran from the scene. A weapon has since been recovered.
Videos of the men arriving at and leaving the home where the intended target lives are now circulating on social media.
The man who was at home when the hitmen called was recently released from prison after serving a lengthy jail term.
A number of crime scenes are sealed off as Gardai continue with their investigations.
