An investigation is underway after two men called to a house on the Northside of Cork and attempted to shoot a well known convicted criminal this evening Friday..
It�s understood the men fled the scene on a motorbike and while doing so knocked down a man..
The intended target was recently released from prison after serving a lengthy jail term.
The house where the incident took place is sealed off and a detailed forensic examination is taking place.
