Five men who butchered a father of seven to death have each been sentenced to life in prison.
Siobhan Dooley told the court that she and her husband Thomas Dooley as well as four of their children were attending a funeral in Tralee when a group of men armed with weapons attacked her husband .
Mr Dooley who was a father of seven later died from multiple stab wounds. Mrs Dooley was also badly injured in the incident in October 2022.
In her victim impact statement to the court in Cork Mrs Dooley said Mr Dooley was stolen from them in a barbaric attack and what she and her children witnessed that day will never leave them
The five men one of whom is a brother of the dead man had all denied they murdered Mr Dooley .A Jury however convicted them after a seven week trial. A teenager also found guilty will be sentenced later in the year.
The trial was told Mr Dooley was murdered because one of his daughters finished a relationship with one of the men involved in the killing.
