Limerick hurler Kyle Hayes has appeared in court charged with dangerous driving.
26 year old Hayes is charged with allegedly driving at 150kmh in a 100kmh zone outside Mallow Co Cork on July 14th last.
The court heard Hayes who was arrested on the night was willing to enter a plea of careless driving .
Gardai who arrested Hayes on the night of the alleged incident were not in court to give evidence and Judge Colm Roberts said he would adjourn the case so that Gardai can outline the facts and he will then hear both sides of the case.
The 5 times All Ireland hurling medal winner did not speak in court other than to confirm his name.
A person convicted of dangerous driving can be jailed for up to six months and or be fined 6.000 Euro
The case will be back before the court in September.
