A Garda investigation is underway after a teenager was allegedly stabbed during an incident in Cork in the early hours of this morning.
Emergency services were called to a location in Blackrock following reports of an incident.
When they arrived, they discovered that a teenage boy had suffered serious injuries.
Paramedics treated him at the scene before he was taken to Cork University Hospital for further treatment.
A juvenile was arrested for questioning in relation to to the assault.
Gardaí have taken a number of statements from those present and have also examined CCTV footage.
In a statement to All About Cork a spokesperson said “Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a serious assault in Blackrock, Cork city on Sunday 15th March 2026 shortly before 1:00am.
An adult male (aged in his late teens) was conveyed Cork University Hospital for treatment of injuries.
A male juvenile was arrested and detained at a Garda Station in the Cork city under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.Investigations are ongoing”say Gardai.
Detectives hope to speak with the injured teenager once medical staff say he is well enough to do so.
