There are many pros and cons to the internet and children often find themselves at the wrong end of the Web.
Safety is paramount when navigating the internet and this coming Saturday CoderDojo Zero is inviting anyone from 7 to 17 with an interest in coding to join them on International Computer Security Day –
From its home at Republic of Work on Corks South Mall, Irelands original coding club will give new members the chance to win one of three reconditioned laptops, as well as offering them useful hacks to keep devices safe and a workshop on internet safety.
CoderDojo helps steer young coders away from the dark side so they can be part of the solution when it comes to internet and software security. They believe not only is it the more ethical route, it also offers the potential for a high reward career path in Cybersecurity.
The CoderDojo event for International Computer Safety Day takes place this Saturday, 30th November between 1.30 and 4pm. Children and young people between the ages of 7 and 17, along with their parents, are welcome to attend.
The event is free but please register your interest at https://codeclub.org/en/clubs/ie/cork/coderdojo-zero where more details are also available.
