In a bid to improve dirty water issues in hundred’s of homes in Cork Uisce Éireann will carry out flushing works are part of an improvement plan to address water the discolouration crisis.
Planned flushing will take place at The Avenue, Pope’s Hill, Assumption Road and Ardpatrick on the Northside of Cork beginning tomorrow Monday, 03 March, and it is expected to take up to four nights to complete.
As works progress through the area, signage will be put in place. Customers are also advised to check the supply and services section of the Uisce Eireann website on http://www.water.ie
To minimise disruption further, the works will be carried out at night-time during off peak usage hours, typically starting after 10pm and finishing in the early hours of the morning.
This is to allow the network to have time to return to normal before the morning demand starts, reducing the potential for discoloured water at customers’ taps.
