When it comes to total disregard for a persons life a driver arrested in Cork is top of the list.
Gardai in Mitchelstown were on patrol in an unmarked car along the M8 near Watergrasshill, Co. Cork yesterday evening when they were dangerously overtaken by a high powered BMW.
Lights and sirens failed to persuade the driver to pull in and he took off at over 200km/h while weaving in and out of traffic.
The driver was eventually stopped and Garda� could instantly tell that had been drinking a lot more than just a bottle of Tanora.
Gardai found a stash of bottles of beer in the footwell of the caar.
The man failed a road side breath test so he was arrested.
Back at the station he was found to be almost twice the legal limit.
Further checks revealed that this was the second time this month that the driver was caught driving while drunk at the wheel and he was on bail.at the time.
While he will now face court for the two incidents it’s somewhat of a miracle he was caught and this is not a story about innocent road users who were killed by a pure selfish and irresponsible man.
