Fota Wildlife Park in County Cork has announced the birth of two endangered red panda cubs, born on June 7th, 2025.
The cubs are the offspring of three-year-old Suzi, who arrived from Berlin Zoo, and seven-year-old Grga, transferred from Zagreb Zoo in 2019.
Currently, the cubs remain in their nesting box with their mother, sleeping and nursing.
In about three weeks, they’re expected to begin brief explorations of their habitat during early morning or late evening hours under Suzi’s watchful care.
To celebrate, Fota Wildlife Park is inviting the public to help name the cubs. Submit your name suggestions via the park’s blog at http://www.fotawildlife.ie for a chance to win one of two Conservation annual passes.
