After receiving calls that small yacht was on the rocks at Knockadoon Co Cork volunteers with Youghal Coast Guard Until responded just after 12 noon today Saturday
A falling tide made it impossible to save the yacht from breaking up but the Coast Guard team members were relieved to find no one was on board at the time.
The incident has urged volunteers to remind boat owners to check their moorings or secure.
