Cork is set to become home to the tallest residential building in the country.
Rising to just over 288 feet, the 25-storey Railway Apartment development overlooking Leesside will provide 217 affordable homes in Cork’s Docklands, with completion expected by the end of next year.
Construction reached a major milestone when specialist contractor Slipform UK began pouring the lift and stair core on Wednesday, March 18. More than 1,700 cubic metres of concrete were poured continuously, reinforced with over 225 tonnes of steel.
The work was carried out around the clock over a 10-day period to achieve the building’s full height.
The Railyard Apartment Scheme is being delivered through a collaborative partnership between Cork City Council, Clúid, and JCD Group.
