The monthly cost of renting a house in Cork has risen beyond the 2k mark.
The latest quaterly report from Daft.ie makes for grim reading .
It shows the average cost of renting on Leesside is now almost 12 percent higher than the same period last year.
Reacting to the latest news People Before Profit-Solidarity TD Mick Barry this morning said that the cost of renting a home in Cork is now greater than the take home pay of an increasing number of young people..
With the cost of rent skyrocketing 11.9% over 12 months, Cork now stands as just one of four Irish cities in the double digit rent increase club he said.
