A Garda investigation is underway after a house in Ballyvolane Cork was petrol bombed while a family slept inside in the early hours of this morning.
Thea attack happened at a property on Meadow Park Avenue at approximately 4am. Occupants were inside the home when the device was thrown, sparking panic and forcing an emergency response.
Firefighters, paramedics and Gardaí rushed to the scene within minutes of the alarm being raised.
Several people were treated for smoke inhalation following the incident, though no serious injuries have been reported at this stage.
The scene has been preserved for forensic examination as investigators work to establish the circumstances surrounding the attack and identify the culprits responsible.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward, assuring the public that all information will be treated in the strictest confidence.
