Gardai in Cork have seized a pony after its owner used the neglected animal to pull a cart into the city yesterday afternoon.
Offers were due to meet the man in relation to another matter but were horrified when they saw the pony in such a bad state.
The underfed pony was seized and is now in a safe shelter .
Gardai are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the incident.
