Ballincollig is preparing to proudly represent Ireland in the prestigious Communities in Bloom International Challenge later this month, following its success as the 2024 SuperValu National Tidy Towns winner.
The honour recognises the incredible dedication of local volunteers, community groups, businesses and residents who work together to enhance the town’s environment, heritage and quality of life.
During their visit, international judges will experience many of the people and places that make Ballincollig special, including local schools, community allotments, biodiversity projects, sports clubs, care services and local food producers as well as the White Horse .
Ballincollig Tidy Towns Chairperson Tom Butler said the community is proud to represent not only the town, but also Cork and Ireland on the international stage.
“This achievement reflects the hard work, commitment and community spirit of so many people. It’s a celebration of everyone pulling together to make Ballincollig an even better place to live, work and visit.”
As preparations continue, volunteers and Cork City Council are working side by side to showcase the very best of Ballincollig and extend a warm welcome to the visiting judges later this month.
