A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of his partner mother of two Daena Walsh.
29 year old Adam Corcoran with an address in Cork was brought before a special court sitting at 11.30 this morning Sunday after being questioned in relation to the death of Ms Walsh who died from stab wounds at her apartment in Midelton Co Cork last Friday.
Emergency services raced to the apartment after receiving reports of a fire and found 27 year old Ms Walsh with critical injuries. Ms Walsh was pronounced dead at the scene and a full scale murder investigation was launched.
In court this morning investigating officers said Corcoran replied no comment when the charge of murder was put to him.
Because of the serious of the charge bail can not be granted in the District Court
Solicitor Eddie Burke who is representing the accused requested that his client would be granted any medical attention he needs while in custody.
Corcoran who the court heard is unemployed was granted free legal aid and remanded in custody and is due back in court again this coming Tuesday.
