Meet The Cork Ambassadors

1 Min Read

A new City Centre Warden Scheme has been launched in Cork to enhance the city centre experience.

Jointly funded by Cork City Council, the Cork Business Association (CBA), and the Department of Justice, the two-year pilot will see four wardens patrolling the city.

They will act as friendly ambassadors—assisting the public, supporting local businesses, and reporting issues like litter or graffiti.

While they won’t have enforcement powers, the wardens will work closely with the Council, CBA, and An Garda Síochána to address community concerns and maintain a welcoming environment.

Council CEO Valerie O’Sullivan and CBA President Dave O’Brien said the initiative reflects pride in Cork and aims to create a cleaner, safer, and more vibrant city centre.
