It’s official, Cork now has a new multi millionaire. The National Lottery has confirmed last Tuesday’s winning ticket was sold in Cork.

Cork retail store has etched its name into Irish Lotto history after the National Lottery confirmed it sold the winning ticket for Tuesday night’s extraordinary €250 million EuroMillions jackpot — the largest prize ever won in Ireland.

This historic win not only shatters all previous National Lottery records but also marks the 18th time an Irish player has claimed a EuroMillions jackpot since the game’s inception in 2004.

Amid nationwide excitement and speculation, the National Lottery confirmed this afternoon that the lucky ticketholder has made contact with its Prize Claims team. The identity of the winner remains undisclosed for now.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have heard from our EuroMillions winner,” said Emma Monaghan, spokesperson for the National Lottery. “At this point, our priority is to give them the necessary time and space to make arrangements and let this life-changing news sink in. No other details will be revealed at this stage.”
