The cost of school books is often an extra burden on parents.
Theres good news today however with the announcement that over half a million students will receive the books free of charge.
Minister for Education Norma Foley TD, and Minister for Special Education and Inclusion Hildegarde Naughton TD, have today launched the second year of the scheme which will see free schoolbooks, workbooks and copybooks provided to pupils in primary and special schools.
Guidance for schools, as well as information for parents and guardians, regarding the new scheme, has been published by the Department of Education and can be accessed here. http://www.gov.ie/schoolbookschemes
