Garda� and emergency services responded to a crash involving a car and a lorry on the N20 at Ballyhea, Charleville, shortly after 9 p.m last night.
The driver of the car, a man in his 50s, was taken from the scene to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries. His condition is understood to be stable. The driver of the lorry did not require immediate medical treatment.
The scene is preserved for examination, and local traffic diversions are in place. Investigations are ongoing.
