It’s been another great day in Cork as the winners of the Better Building Awards were announced at the Kingsley Hotel .

Judges had yet another tough job to select the list of winners. ?

Speaking at the event President of the Cork Business Association Aaron Mansworth said �These awards mean so much to those who are nominated and shortlisted.

Maintaining and presenting these buildings to their very best, takes alot of time, effort and financial commitment.

So, I am very proud that today, we will celebrate those who have shown vision in how they build, modernise and maintain their buildings.�

There were over one hundred entries this year spread across ten categories including the Judges Choice Award. As well as the winners, two Special Merit Awards were presented.

The winners are:-

  1. Best Tourism and Arts – Elizabeth Fort, Barrack St.
  2. Best Retail � Mango, St. Patrick�s St.
  3. Best Cafe / Restaurant – Paladar, Bridge St.
  4. Best Pub Front � Seventy Seven, Grand Parade

*Special Merit -Old Brennan�s Wine Bar, Oliver Plunkett St.

  1. Best New Development � 7,8,9 Quaker Road, Donnybrook
  2. Best Commercial Premises – Savills, Penrose Wharf
  3. Best Climate Resilience – The Old Oak, Oliver Plunkett St
  4. Best City Living � Barrack St. Housing Development
  5. Heritage, Conservation and Sustainability Winner � Mercy Hospital Cancer Care Centre

*Special Merit – Mercy Hospital Mansion House Entrance Restoration

  1. Judges Choice � Redevelopment of the former Moores Hotel, Morrison�s Island
