A book of condolence has been opened at Cork City Hall to mark the passing of formerTD and Minister of State Bernard Allen.
79 year old Mr Allen who was also a former Lord Mayor of Cork died over the weekend
Bernard Allen was Lord Mayor from 1988-1989 while his grandfather, James Allen was Lord Mayor in 1942. His uncle, the later Alderman Sammy Allen served on Cork Corporation until his passing in 1977.
MR Allen who spent over thirty years in public life is survived by his wife and three daughters
