A man is due in court this morning after a shotgun was seized in Mallow, Cork during the early hours of yesterday morning Thursday.
Around 1.10am, Garda� operating a checkpoint stopped a car and during a search a shotgun plus a quantity ammunition was found.
A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene and has since been charged.
The operation involved the Mallow Detective Unit, Mallow Drugs Unit and Mallow Roads Policing Unit.
The seized items have been sent to The Garda Ballistics Unit for further testing.
