72 motorist’s have been clocked speeding between 7 am and 12 noon today as part of Operation Slow Down.
A 24 hour crackdown on speeding commenced this morning morning Monday at 7 am. Gardai are out in force in a bid to encourage motorist’s to ease off on the accelerator.
Examples of high speeds include:
- 106km/h in a 80km/h Zone on the R772 Clavass Enniscorthy Wexford
- 115km/h in a 100km/h Zone on the N18 Ballinacurra (Weston) Limerick Limerick
- 114km/h in a 100km/h Zone on the N25 Lemybrien Waterford
- 90km/h in a 80km/h Zone on the N2 Knockronaghan Emyvale Monaghan
- 90km/h in a 80km/h Zone on the R330 Drumminroe West Partry Mayo
- 111km/h in a 100km/h Zone on the N3 Lisgrea Virginia Cavan
- 129km/h in a 120km/h Zone on the M6 Killavally Tyrrellspass Westmeath
