A man has been rushed to hospital after being attacked with a knife in Cork City Centre this evening Friday
The man who’s well known to Garda� was set upon while outside a coffee shop on the Grand Parade sometime after 5pm.
The culprit who was armed with what’s believed to have been a knife lashed out at the man who sustained multiple slash wounds to his chest back and head.
He’s currently in CUH where his condition is described as stable.
The injured party was the subject of another incident this day two weeks ago when two armed men called to his home and smashed a number of windows.
He was recently released from Prison after serving a lengthy stretch for shooting at a house where a young woman suffered a gunshot wound to the neck.
The area where this evenings attack took place remains sealed off as Gardai carry out a detailed examination of the crime scene.
