A man thought to be in his early 30s is in a critical condition after being assaulted in Cork this afternoon Wednesday.
It’s understood the man was on a bus travelling in the Mayfield direction and Gardai are trying to establish if he was attacked while on the bus or when he got off at a stop close to Mayfield Garda Station at around 4pm.
Emergency services responded and on arrival Paramedics found the man was unresponsive and covered in blood.
The area has been sealed off as forensic officers carry out an examination .
