A man who hijacked a car with a baby on board in Dublin has been charged and is due in court later today.
The incident occurred at around 1.50pm on Monday just moments after the mother got out of her Nissan Qashqai while the 5 month old girl remained in her car seat.
Within seconds the thief had jumped into the car and took off at high speed with the infants distraught mother running behind shouting that her baby was in the back seat.
Following a Child Rescue Ireland alert the car was found abandoned some two hours later with the baby girl still in her car seat and unharmed.
The suspect was later arrested in Dublin City Centre and questioned up until he was charged earlier today
He�s due in court at 4.30 pm
