The manner in which the car was moving from side to side just didn’t sit right with two members of the Traffic Corp on duty in Carrick on Shannon today so they decided to pull him over to see why he was driving erratically.
During their little chat it emerged that he was a learner permit holder driving unaccompanied with no L plates on display.
On further inspection Gardai discovered the car was not insured
Then the Garda members decided to to arrest him as they believed he was the worse for wear from drink and he was taken back to the Garda Station where he was tested.
The driver was 14 times over the legal drink driving limit.
A day in court awaits.
