He asked himself so many questions while trying to make out what the object was but he just couldn�t get near enough to actually see for certain.
Both curious but mostly concerned the swimmer ???? then made a decision to get to shore and call the Coastguard and reported that something unusual was drifting out to see Off Claycastle near Youghal Co Cork.
Youghal Coastguard and Youghal Lifeboat volunteers were tasked to go and locate the mysterious object at around 7pm last evening. .
Minutes into the search crew members spotted what turned out to be a giant sized football ??.
The swimmer has been praised for not ignoring what he saw in the distance and did the right thing by making the 999 call said the volunteers as it could have been a very different story.
