Four men have appeared in court charged in connection with the seizure of cocaine off the coast of Cork earlier this week.
The men were arrested as part of an investigation into the importation of cocaine worth over 30 million Euro
The accused were charged with a string of offences and remanded in custody following their appearance at Bandon District Court this morning.
The men who are in their 30s and 40s have addresses in the UK Scotland and Germany.
The cocaine was seized when armed Gardai swooped on a van shortly after it left Broad Strand near Courtmacsheery West Cork in the early hours of Tuesday morning last. Two men were arrested at the scene.
Two other men were arrested on-board an inflatable rib after a high speed chase at sea involving members of the Irish Navy.
