A crash in which a woman was critically injured in Co Limerick yesterday afternoon has been referred to GSOC
The casualty remains in a serious condition after being airlifted to CUH following the collision involving a car and a bus near Ballylanders Village around 3pm
It’s understood the woman who’s in her 30s was a passenger in the car being driven by an off duty Garda.
The two were on their way to West Cork after visiting friends in Co Clare.
In a statement Gardai confirmed the incident has been referred to GSOC.
The statement reads as follows —- A referral has been made under Section 102 of the Garda S�och�na Act to An Garda S�och�na Ombudsman Commission (GSOC) in relation to this incident.
An Garda S�och�na cannot make any further comment and any further enquiries should be directed to GSOC.
GSOC has confirmed “The referral was made by a Garda Superintendent under section 102(1) of the Garda S�och�na Act, 2005.
The matter is now under examination by GSOC further to section 91 of the Garda S�och�na Act, 2005. As such, no further comment will be made at this time”.
