1963 a young lad called to Crowley’s music store on MacCurtain Street Cork and purchased a Stratocaster guitar.
The lad was none other than Rory Gallagher, who went on to become a worldwide sensation.
Earlier today American blues musician Joe Bonamassa who will perform Gallagher’s hits when he stars at Live at the Marquee popped into Crowley’s and snapped up a Stratocaster the same model Gallagher bought all those years ago.
Store owner Sheena whose late father Mick sold Rory Gallagher his guitar said Bonamassa was coo and , laidback and it was great to meet him .
Joe Bonamassa plays Rory Gallagher at Corks Live at the Marquee July 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
