Taxi drivers don�t know if they�re coming or going due to a lack of clarification around VAT rules.
Cab owners who chose to work off certain Apps could face losing their licenses due unpaid VAT returns.
It�s emerged some app providers outside of Ireland pay the VAT on their side of the business but others who are registered for VAT in Ireland want Taxi drivers here to pay the VAT.
The problem is cabbies here don�t have to register for VAT and could face huge liabilities and run the risk of not having their license renewed.
Founder of Taxi Drivers Ireland Derek O� Keeffee says the uncertainty is driving him and his colleagues around the bend and is demanding the National Transport Authority to step in and sort out the mess once and for all.
