An investigation is underway after a foal was found dead earlier today in Cork
The grim discovery was made by a woman out walking in a field in Rathcooney on the outskirts of the city.
The shocking find has left animal welfare groups extremely sad but most of all angry at how anyone could be so cruel and callous.
The passerby said she first saw something sticking out of a black plastic bag and on closer inspection and to her horror discovered it was a hoof.
The woman went on to rip open the plastics and sadly found the dead miniature foal.
The Department of Agriculture as well as Garda� are investigating.
It�s understood a number of dead animals have been found in the same location recently.
