A gentle Cork lurcher is still searching for the right family to give him the secure and loving home he deserves.
Butters, who has previously been highlighted by the CSPCA in the hope of finding his forever home, is once again appealing to animal lovers across Cork.
Described as a lovely, gentle dog, Butters adores people, enjoys his walks and gets on extremely well with other dogs. He is also fantastic on the lead and is happiest when he has company around him.
However, Butters has struggled with separation anxiety when left alone.
During his time in a previous home, this anxiety resulted in destructive behaviour, as he simply found it too difficult to cope without company.
Importantly, the CSPCA has found that Butters is completely comfortable when he is with other dogs. For that reason, they are now looking specifically for a home where there is already another dog who can offer him companionship and reassurance.
For Butters, the ideal home is not simply about finding people who love him. He also needs the security of another dog alongside him.
This makes finding the right match particularly important.
Separation anxiety can be challenging for both dogs and their owners, but in the right environment, with understanding, patience and companionship, dogs like Butters can thrive.
The hope now is that someone reading his story will recognise that their home could be the one he has been waiting for.
Butters has plenty to offer in return. He is affectionate, sociable and gentle, and loves being part of everyday family life.
