Imagine sharing a stage with Shania Twain—that’s the dream Ryan Phoenix is chasing as he competes against four other hopefuls to become the “Opening Act” for her Irish performance next July.
An opening act plays a vital role at any concert, helping to energise the crowd and set the tone for the main event.
Earlier this year, the music icon issued a call on the Late Late Show, inviting Irish performers to compete for the chance to open her show at Thomond Park Stadium.
Ryan, a native of Youghal in Co. Cork, believes opportunities like this come along only once in a lifetime.
Backed by strong support from across East Cork, he says winning would be a dream come true—giving him the chance to share the stage with a Grammy-winning star.
In addition to performing alongside Shania Twain, the winner will also secure a place on this year’s Late Late Show Country Special.
All of East Cork will be cheering on the local singer as he takes to the stage on tomorrow nights Late Late Show.
