Dozens of Gardai are carrying out a series of raids in North Cork as part of an investigation into violent feuds.
Officers backed up by armed Gardai as well as the Garda helicopter have swooped on a number of houses and have so far seized a number of guns as well as other types of weapons.
There are currently up to 8 ongoing feuds involving groups from Cork and Limerick.
Houses have been petrol bombed and a 12 year old girl suffered a fractured skull in one of the recent attacks.
Gardai say the operation will last for a number of hours.
