A man has been arrested in relation to the murder of a Ukrainian man in Cork on Monday night last.
All About Cork has learned that the man, who is in his 40s, presented himself at Mayfield Garda Station accompanied by his solicitor Eddie Burke this morning at 11am.
Sources said the suspect wanted to do the “honest ,honourable and right thing”.
The investigation follows the death of a father of one at an apartment at Camden Court, close to Cork Opera House.
The 31-year-old sustained stab wounds earlier on the street and stumbled home, where he collapsed from his injuries.
Paramedics worked on the critically injured man, but he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The man who handed himself into Gardaí this morning is from Cork and had been anxious to meet with the investigation team said a source.
A number of locations have also been searched and mobile phones seized.
It’s understood Gardai are also looking to speak to a woman in relation to the murder.
