Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow Low Temperature and Ice warning for Cork, which will be in effect over two nights this weekend and early next week.
The warning will apply from 6.00pm this evening Saturday, January 3rd until 11.00am on tomorrow Sunday, January 4th, and again from 6.00pm on Sunday, until 11.00am on Monday, January 5th.
Temperatures are expected to drop to between -2°C and -4°C in many areas, bringing sharp to severe frost and icy conditions. Cork County Council’s Severe Weather Assessment Team will continue to closely monitor the situation.

While Cork County Council will treat priority routes, motorists are advised that widespread icy patches may still occur, even on treated roads, due to the low temperatures.
All road users are urged to exercise extreme caution if travellIng during the weather warning period.
