As if Coqbull’s mouthwatering beef and chicken burgers and their legendary wings weren’t already reason enough to visit, they has just raised the game with the launch of a brand new brunch menu, plus a daily lunch deal for just a tenner.
Not too many restaurants can boast having their own free range hens laying their eggs like this city centre restaurant, maybe this is why Coqbull’s eggs, served poached or fried, are so tasty. Not to mention that eggs are one of the most available and affordable sources of protein and the fresher the better we say! We tried their hash and eggs, which can be served with chorizo, bacon or spinach. They also have avocado and poached eggs on sourdough, and you can add smoked salmon, bacon or hollandaise.

Their legendary Hot Coq or BBQ wings are just as good as ever and now they come boneless for those who prefer them that way. Personally, I still go for the traditional wings, they just feel more authentic to me.
But my brunch buddy was thrilled about the boneless option, calling them more convenient and more flavourful. We agreed to disagree on that one!
One thing we did agree on was that their Power Bowls were absolute stunners. They tasted as good as they looked, and for just €8, were super value. Loaded with Greek yoghurt, juicy berries, rhubarb compote, a drizzle of honey, and a sprinkle of seeds, health never looked (or tasted) so good.
Other brunch highlights include: the Full Jack, Jac Mac’s traditional sausages, award-winning black and white pudding, crispy bacon, portobello mushrooms, potato hash, grilled tomatoes, and a fried egg, all served with sourdough toast.
The Veggie Jack, which is a meat-free twist with portobello mushrooms, comes with potato hash, grilled tomato, and two fried eggs on sourdough toast.
The Brekkie Bull, a 6oz beef patty stacked with American cheese, portobello mushroom, and a fried egg.
The Brekkie Coq is a marinated chicken breast, crispy bacon and black pudding.
Both the Brekkie Bull and Brekkie Coq are served with a dollop of Ballymaloe Relish.

All the Coqbull favourites are still on the menu, like the classic Bull burger loaded with cheddar, American cheese, pickles, and their signature sauce. You’ve got hearty salads like the Caesar and Power, or go all-in with the Nashville Chicken (think crispy bacon, hot honey, cheese and ranch) or the Pulled Like a Piggy with BBQ jackfruit and all the vegan trimmings.
Then there’s the Coqbull Club, which is delicious pulled rotisserie chicken, crispy bacon, tomato and egg salad on toasted sourdough.
The Boujie Benedict with its poached eggs, crispy bacon, avocado, and silky hollandaise on a toasted croissant bun gave my friend the perfect excuse to go back, not that she really needed one! And if you’re a waffle fan, rejoice, because they’ve got you covered with their crispy-on-the-outside, fluffy-on-the-inside-waffles. They’re served with either Jack Mac’s bacon and maple syrup or the sweet stuff like Nutella, strawberries and blueberries.
The brunch prices are from around a tenner, or less if you are only having the Power Bowl! See the brunch menu here.
There’s loads of side dishes to choose from, great coffee, wines and cocktails too.
They’ve also launched a week day lunch menu for a tenner that runs from midday from 5pm. It includes burgers, salads, wings and cauliflower wings, plus rotisserie chicken, which, interestingly, is soaked in Barry’s tea brine, before being rubbed with their own mouthwatering Coq rub.
