A learner driver who was six times over the drink drive limit was arrested Co, Kerry earlier this morning.
Officers with the Kerry Roads Policing Unit arrested the young driver after he failed a roadside breath test during an early morning checkpoint.
Gardai say the motorist who should have have been accompanied by a qualified driver was arrested and taken to a Garda Station for an evidential breath test.
The test revealed the learner driver was six times over the legal drink driving limit,
The young man is due to appear in court at a later date.
