A man has been arrested in connection with an incident in which a woman was allegedly stabbed in Cork earlier this morning.
Emergency services responded to reports that a woman had run onto the roadway in the Farranree area, claiming she had been attacked and stabbed.
Paramedics treated the woman for her injuries before she was transferred to Cork University Hospital (CUH).
It is understood the victim, who is in her 20s, sustained several cuts to her body.
A short time later, a large number of gardaí raided the property where the alleged assault took place and arrested a suspect, who is also in his 20s.
Forensic experts have been examining the scene, as well as gathering footage from cameras attached to the house.
